Common Questions and Answers
Q: How do I apply?
A: You can apply on-line. We do not accept applications in person.
Q: Is the position still open?
A: Yes. If it's listed on the jobs page, then it's still available.
Q: Do I need my own car?
A: Yes. You will use your own car for deliveries.
Q: What will I be delivering?
A: You will deliver movies, food, and other small items to our customers at their home or place of work. We deliver to people just like yourself. This job does not involve delivering heavy loads.
Q: How much will I get paid?
A: We pay you the "waiter's wage" of $2.13 per hour plus 50 cents per mile. You'll also receive tips from our customers. In the end, we guarantee you'll earn at least $12 per hour when considering your hourly wage, mileage reimbursement, and estimated total tips. If you don't make that much over a pay period, we'll supplement your paycheck with a bonus to cover any shortage. (Estimated total tips are based upon reported credit card tips and an estimate for all unreported tips. Estimated total tips may vary (more or less) from your actual tips received because we don't track every tip you'll get).
Q: Do I get paid for gas or mileage?
A: Yes, you get 55 cents per mile that you drive. This is the rate set by the IRS and should offset your gas, maintenance and even depreciation of your car. Any costs above and beyond that rate are your responsibility. Mileage is determined by MapQuest driving distance. The mileage reimbursement is tax free money. This is a huge benefit to you, as most of our drivers don't spend even half that amount on gas.
Q: I'm not 21, can I still be a delivery driver?
A: Sorry, but our insurance company requires that all of our drivers be 21. No exceptions.
Q: I have a few tickets or an accident, can I still be a delivery driver?
A: Yes, but we prefer people with a spotless record over the past three years. However, if you've had an accident (in which you were issued a ticket) or more than 2 tickets within the past three years, you are not eligible to drive for us.
Q: Where will I be delivering to?
A: We currently deliver primarily to Downtown, Midtown, Virginia-Highlands, Emory, Grant Park, East Atlanta, and parts of Buckhead. We do not deliver outside the perimeter. You will deliver to our customers homes and places of work in these neighborhoods.
Q: Are weekends required?
A: More than likely you will be required to work at least one weekend night (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) per week.
Q: Are you open on the holidays?
A: Yes. We are open 365 days a year.
Q: Have you received my application?
A: If you submitted your application on-line, then we have received it. Unfortunately, due to the large number of applications that we receive, we are not able to call everyone back who applies. Rest assured though, that if we think you make a good candidate for being our newest Zifty delivery driver, we will get in touch with you.
Q: How can I contact you?
A: Here is our contact information.
